Sustainability

Reality check

Our business maintains and repairs mission-critical and high-value equipment on behalf of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to:

  • Increase energy efficiency: Regular servicing and upgrades keep machinery operating at peak efficiency, helping to reduce energy consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Reduce waste: By repairing or refurbishing equipment instead of discarding it. Consequently, our actions contribute to a circular economy model by keeping resources in use for as long as possible, minimising the need for raw material extraction and waste disposal.
  • Increase lifespan: By reducing the need for premature disposal and the consumption of new resources, we minimise waste and conserve natural resources.

Yet, at the same time, we acknowledge that our business model relies on field engineers travelling to customers’ locations by car.

Furthermore, as a small-to-medium-sized enterprise (SME), realistically, we need more resources to expand our efforts.

Approach

Sustainability for our Small to Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) encompasses more than just environmental considerations.

To contribute to a more sustainable future, we overcome barriers by taking a pragmatic and long-term approach.

Priorities

We proactively secure our long-term viability and resilience by practising sustainability across economic, governance, environmental, and collaborative partnership areas.

Economic Sustainability

To ensure our long-term viability and resilience, we diversify our revenue streams across various sectors, including graphics, healthcare, optometry, digital cinema, and robotics.

Additionally, we invest in innovation and technology to stay competitive while managing our resources efficiently.

Governance and Ethical Practices

We uphold good governance and ethical business practices as essential elements of sustainability.

Since 2009, we have maintained an ISO 9001 certification, a globally recognised standard for Quality Management.

Furthermore, our sustainability practices undergo rigorous annual assessment by the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, EcoVadis.

Our assessments have twice earned us a silver rating and scorecard, demonstrating our transparency, accountability, and adherence to high ethical standards.

Sustainability Through Innovation and Efficiency

As a sustainability-focused SME, we leverage innovative technologies and practices for field service and operational management to minimise environmental impact and maximise efficiency.

Our agile approach allows us to adapt quickly to changing market demands, offering tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of our OEM partners.

Environmental Sustainability

As mentioned, the foundations of Veritek’s business model are increasing product longevity and durability while minimising environmental footprint.

We reduce carbon emissions associated with field service operations through fuel-efficient vehicles, optimised travel routes, and remote diagnostics.

Furthermore, we ensure sustainable practices where we can in our business.

Sustainability Through Long-Term Collaboration

For nearly 40 years, we have built long-term partnerships based on trust, reliability, shared values, and goals.

Sustained collaboration helps us to ensure stability and customer satisfaction.

Additionally, sustained collaboration continues to lead to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Our Commitment

As our SME business grows, our sustainability initiatives will evolve.

By embracing sustainability as a driver of adaptability and resilience, innovation, competitiveness, and long-term value creation, we endeavour to lead our sector and contribute to a more sustainable future.
