Key Takeaways from RSNA 2023

A buzzing 109th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA 2023) held in Chicago between 26th and 30th November 2023 attracted nearly 700 prominent OEMs, and suppliers. Also,  medical information and technology developers. Here they showcased groundbreaking advancements in medical imaging.

Alongside their technology, providing comprehensive and reliable imaging technology support helps OEMs foster enduring partnerships with the healthcare providers they serve.

So, our Healthcare Sector After-Sales Service and Support experts travelled to Chicago to meet and network with our OEM partners. Their goal was to gain insights into advancements in technology and services within their field of expertise.

AI remained a prevalent theme

Artificial intelligence and its ability to support more accurate diagnosis again took the spotlight on OEM stands, workshop sessions, and discussions.

Increased emphasis on workflow optimisation

Other conversations centred on how workflow optimisation enhances usability and expedites patient movement through imaging equipment.

For instance, innovations included patient beds adjusting to optimise positioning for scans.  Adjustable beds ensure patient comfort and expedite processes for radiologists.

Noteworthy on the Philips stand was Philips’ Paediatric Coaching Solution.

Hans Driessen, Senior Manager of Downstream Marketing, explained how the Paediatric Coaching Solution prepares and guides children through MRI exams at home and in clinical settings, providing in-bore guidance during the scan to minimise anxiety.

GE Healthcare unveiled its Theranostics innovation

GE Theranostics stood out Among GE Healthcare’s 40 innovations aimed at supporting clinicians, enhancing patient care, and improving health system efficiency.

Regional General Manager for Northern Europe, Simon Maguire, explained that GE Theranostics’ objective is to simplify the coordination of oncology care pathways, historically a laborious manual process.

Relaxation for weary delegates

Amidst the event’s vibrant and dynamic gathering, massage therapists offered foot, shoulder, and back massages accompanied by aromatherapy and relaxing music, providing a rejuvenating break for delegates.
