Compliance Manager

Location: Polegate, East Sussex

Hours 37.5 per week Mon-Fri

Salary: £35,000- £40,000 PA plus car

Veritek provides multi-disciplined technical services to a wide range of business sectors and customers. Drawing on 30 years’ experience of award-winning service, we provide installation, maintenance and support solutions to equipment manufacturers and end users. Our areas of operations include Photo Imaging, Printing, Graphics, Healthcare, Ophthalmic and Digital Cinema.

We are seeking an experienced H&S and Quality professional to work together with all internal departments to ensure the business’ compliance with all relevant H&S legislation, ISO accreditations and other business regulation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Implement and co-ordinate the organisation’s risk management strategy (working with relevant departments to ensure thorough risk assessment completion for all business activities as required), with the aim of encouraging continuous improvement at all times.
  • Responsibility for the guidance of the organisation’s First Aid qualified personnel, working with the HR/Training Department to ensure qualifications are up to date.
  • Implement and maintain Business Continuity plans for the organization.
  • Plan, review, recommend and implement health and safety management systems and practices across the organization, in line with prevailing legislation (working with the HR/Training Department to ensure H&S training is monitored and kept up to date).
  • Work with Department Heads and the ISO Champions team to implement robust processes in line with ISO accreditations, again with the aim of encouraging continuous improvement at all times.
  • Work with Field Management and HR/Training to ensure compliance with EN65323 Electrical Safety Standards.
  • Working with and supporting HR on compliance with General Data Protection Regulations.
  • Preparation and management of external quality audits as part of the accreditation/re-accreditation process, in conjunction with the accreditation body and the external quality consultant.
  • Working with Department Heads to complete a robust internal auditing schedule for all areas of the business.

Full training will be provided.

Successful candidates will have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar H&S and Compliance role preferably in an engineering environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience/knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, ability to persuade and influence at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational ability – both self and others.
  • The ability to be decisive and to prioritise.
